เมื่อวันที่ 21 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568 ผศ.ดร.สุวิชาน พัฒนาไพรวัลย์ เป็นตัวแทนมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงเข้าร่วมงาน วันภาษาแม่สากล (International Mother Language Day – IMLD) 2025 ซึ่งจัดขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมความสำคัญของภาษาแม่และสนับสนุนการศึกษาแบบทวิ-พหุภาษาในประเทศไทย ณ สถาบันวิจัยภาษาและวัฒนธรรมเอเชีย มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล
ภายในงานมีการประกาศความร่วมมือของ เครือข่ายปฏิบัติการด้านการศึกษาทวิ-พหุภาษาในประเทศไทย (Thailand MTB-MLE Action Network) ซึ่งเป็นเครือข่ายที่มุ่งเน้นการพัฒนาการศึกษาโดยใช้ภาษาแม่เป็นฐาน เพื่อส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ที่มีประสิทธิภาพและสร้างความยั่งยืนทางภาษาและวัฒนธรรมในชุมชนต่างๆ ทั่วประเทศ
มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงมีบทบาทสำคัญในการสนับสนุนการศึกษาที่เคารพความหลากหลายทางภาษาและวัฒนธรรม และพร้อมเดินหน้าสร้างความร่วมมือเพื่อพัฒนาภาษาแม่ให้คงอยู่และเติบโตอย่างมั่นคงในสังคมไทยต่อไป
Mae Fah Luang University Joins International Mother Language Day 2025 to Strengthen Collaboration for Sustainable Mother Tongue Development
On February 21, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suwichan Patanapraiwal represented Mae Fah Luang University at the International Mother Language Day (IMLD) 2025 event, which aimed to promote the importance of mother tongues and support multilingual education in Thailand. The even was held at Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia, Mahidol University.
The event featured the official announcement of the Thailand MTB-MLE Action Network, a collaborative initiative dedicated to advancing education through mother-tongue-based multilingual education (MTB-MLE). This network focuses on enhancing effective learning and ensuring the sustainability of linguistic and cultural diversity across communities in Thailand.
Mae Fah Luang University plays a crucial role in advocating for education that respects linguistic and cultural diversity. The university remains committed to fostering collaboration and contributing to the sustainable development of mother tongues in Thai society.
